What is your parenting superpower?
Glen Henry tells of his superpower – being a stay-at-home-dad!
family is one of the biggest foundations in anyone’s life.
Glen Henry, TEDxMidAtlantic 2018
I’ve always heard that parenting was one of the most rewarding and most important things a person can do. I think I always knew that, as well, which is why I was so ready to be a parent when I first got married.
It turns out that was a bit naive.
Don’t get me wrong, being a parent is rewarding. It is important.
But it is also demanding.
Further, it is exhausting.
And while there are literally thousands of books about parenting, the simple truth is no one has any idea what parenting actually entails until they are walking that path.
Glen Henry is an advocate for stay-at-home parents. It isn’t possible for everyone, to be sure. But his short TED talk reveals just how rewarding and important it is.
And even if you can’t swing being a full-blown stay-at-home parent, you can be present in your kids’ lives – and that is the parenting superpower that can change the world.
Each week, I try to post at least two TED talks on the True Men Blog in order to broaden my understanding of the people of this world.
