After Jesus’ resurrection from the dead – that secured for the forgiveness of sins won on the cross – he would appear to his disciples in various places over a period of forty days.
Here’s my thought. I’ve changed. You’ve changed. The culture has changed. Yes, even the world has changed.
But God has not changed.
This is basic to the Christian faith: that what is believed about Jesus Christ is passed on to others, to teach and confess it, especially to children.
Going to church, participating in a Bible study, these are part of the modern-day equivalents of the Old Testament practice of keeping the Sabbath Day holy. But not because we must – but because God loves us and wants what is best for us!
